Job Description

OBJECTIVES: The Business Intelligence Analyst assists with the implementation and maintenance of Prime Capital Financials’ BI architecture and systems. The Business Intelligence Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the Director of Business Intelligence in transforming data into actionable insights and performing a wide range of tasks, from establishing new data connections and processes, troubleshooting and enhancing existing programs, exploring and documenting processes and data governance, etc. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and a strong understanding of database architecture and querying. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Python and Alteryx, with a keen ability to design and create efficient data processes and solutions. The BI team manages the BI stack from top-to-bottom and front-to-back, so the opportunities to learn aren’t limited by departmental silos.

Key Responsibilities:

Comply with Prime Capital Financial and FINRA policies and procedures based on a registered or non-registered position.

Operational Efficiency

  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless operational processes and timely execution of research and requests.
  • Stay up-to-date and proficient in all technologies required for this role.
  • Exercises correct security procedures for personal workspace.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to provide insights to various stakeholders.
  • Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Present findings in a clear and concise manner to support decision-making processes.

Compliance and Regulation

  • Adhere to all applicable compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining client confidentiality and data privacy.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation for compliance purposes.
  • Assist in the preparation of compliance reports and audits for the Business Intelligence department as needed.

Technical Expertise

  • Utilize Python and Alteryx to perform data manipulation, analysis, and automation tasks.
  • Understand and apply database architecture and querying techniques, specifically using Postgres and AWS Redshift.
  • Design and create processes to receive data through API calls within the definitions and rules of the sources

Database Management

  • Manage and optimize data storage solutions to ensure efficient data retrieval and analysis.
  • Develop and implement data quality checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure seamless data integration and system compatibility.

Problem Solving and Innovation

  • Approach challenges with tenacity and an open mind, seeking innovative solutions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to continuously improve business intelligence capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of BI tools and processes.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with the Director of Business Intelligence and other team members to align goals and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide tailored BI solutions.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to planning and strategy discussions.
  • Provide backup support to other team members as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Python in a Business Intelligence or Data Science environment.
  • Proficiency in using Alteryx to inspect, move, and load data.
  • Financial Investment Advisory Services industry experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Postgres and AWS Redshift databases.
  • Experience with API integration and data processing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office skills required. Google Suite, Salesforce, and Orion preferred.
