The Role:

Chapel Haven’s Wellness program empowers our community to live healthier happier lives by providing accessible support in a positive environment. We are seeking a qualified motivated and supportive Wellness Coach to assist the Wellness manager in integrating structured and independent Wellness activities into daily life. The Wellness Coach will lead a variety of on and off campus Wellness activities. The Wellness Coach will play a key role in promoting a combination of structured and independent Wellness activities to support the health and well-being of the Chapel Haven community if you're passionate about fitness and Wellness we invite you to apply!

Essential responsibilities:

• Facilitating transportation to off campus Wellness activities and events running Wellness programs such as healthy cooking meal planning in exercise-based workshops clubs in classes.
• Supervising independent fitness sessions and campus facilities or community partner locations
• Assisting individuals in developing and following individual Wellness plans.
• Providing one-on-one fitness nutrition in Wellness coaching.
• Documenting sessions within 24 hours in Wellness systems
• Other tasks as assigned

Minimum Education Requirements :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Human Services, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field.
• Must be certified personal trainer.

Minimum Preferred Experience:

• Experience working with individuals with developmental and social disabilities.

• 3-5 years’ experience and knowledge in nutrition and exercise science.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Valid CT driver’s license
• Ability to obtain a Valid CT Public Service License Endorsement
• Ability to obtain a First Aid & CPR Certification
• Ability to obtain a CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification
• Problem solving skills, patience, ability to work as a member of a team, organizational skills & leadership skills.
• Ability to sit, stand and drive for periods of time
