About us:

We are a full-service General Practice with full-service Urgent Care running side by side. We offer our clients premium GP experience with cutting-edge technology. Our urgent care is that step between GP and ER so that we can assist in keeping the ERs open and available for true Emergencies while we see the walking wounded. Our facility is equipped with digital radiography, digital dental radiography, in-house labs, laser therapy, and endoscopy. We’re focused on making sure our hospital has access to all te right things for our patients!

About the role:

The veterinary assistant plays a crucial role in the care and well-being of the patients we treat. They are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of the patients, as well as assisting with various tasks related to their care.

Patient Related Responsibilities:

  • Assist with rooming a patient and their human companions
  • Treat the patient according to the treatment plan under supervision of the veterinary technician assigned to them
  • Assist in diagnostics such as radiographs and lab sampling
  • Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and report any concerns to supervisory staff.
  • Exercise and socialize animals to promote their physical and mental well-being.
  • Provide food, water, and medication to animals according to established schedules and protocols.
  • Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and other animal living areas to maintain a clean and healthy environment..
  • Groom animals as needed, including brushing, and nail trimming.

Client Related Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to visitors and answering questions and offering assistance as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of animal intake, and medical treatments.
  • Check out clients in the room to make the visit less stressful

Equipment/Facilities Related Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash to keep the facility clean and organized.
  • Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly maintained, stocked, and stored.
  • Report repair needs
  • Ensure surgery packs are wrapped and sterilized appropriately
Requirements: Requirements

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with animals is required; via externship or complete associates in Veterinary Assisting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Compassion and empathy for animals in need.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and data entry.
