Salary: $60k - $90k per year

Position Overview:

The Underground Utility Foreman is a working foreman position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a small crew focused on installing new underground utilities and performing repairs under maintenance contracts. This role requires hands-on involvement, including operating equipment and performing manual labor, such as fitting pipe. The Foreman ensures all activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, reporting directly to the Underground Utility Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Crew Supervision:
   • Lead and manage the daily activities of the crew, ensuring adherence to project schedules and plans.
   • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to maintain workflow and prevent delays.
2. Quality Assurance & Safety:
   • Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular site inspections.
   • Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with regulations.
   • Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
3. Equipment Operation & Manual Labor:
   • Operate construction equipment as needed to support project goals.
   • Perform manual labor tasks, including fitting pipe and other necessary duties.
4. Team Leadership & Coordination:
   • Motivate and guide the crew, fostering a high-performance culture.
   • Facilitate communication between the crew, the Underground Utility Manager, and other stakeholders.
5. Resource Management:
   • Manage on-site resources efficiently, including labor, materials, and equipment.
   • Ensure the availability and functionality of necessary equipment.
6. Problem Solving & Risk Management:
   • Identify potential issues promptly and develop effective solutions.
   • Address project-related challenges to minimize disruptions.
7. Documentation & Reporting:
   • Maintain accurate on-site documentation and reports for project progress.
   • Ensure timely submission of reports to the Underground Utility Manager.
8. Client & Stakeholder Interaction:
   • Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients and stakeholders.
   • Ensure client needs are met and expectations are exceeded.

   • Efficiently allocate on-site resources to enhance productivity and prevent delays.

   • Maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and service delivery.

Qualifications:

• Over 5 years of experience in supervising underground utility installation and maintenance projects.
• Proven ability to manage on-site operations effectively and efficiently.
• Competence in interpreting plans and specifications.
• Experience operating construction equipment and performing manual labor tasks, including pipe fitting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements is highly desirable.
