Job Description

ManTech seeks a Systems Administrator to join our team in the Ft. Meade, MD area. In this role, you will provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems as well as manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for configuring and managing Linux operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

  • Responsible for providing support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems while providing Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Will provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.

  • Responsible for providing support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers while optimizing system operations and resource utilization, and will perform system capacity analysis and planning.

  • Will support the design of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware while providing detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.

  • Will analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration

  • Responsible for directing and possessing a working knowledge and understand of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline. 5 years of additional related experience may be substituted for a degree

  • 15 years of related experience is required

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
