POSITION SUMMARY:The Patient Advocate (PA) plays a critical role in the human mission of facilitating healing for people who are experiencing depression and suicidality, and often have been failed by previous treatments for many years.The PA is the first point of contact for people tentatively embarking on this journey of healing deep wounds. They are responsible for booking the patients to consultations with nurse practitioners, who can conduct assessments and prescribe treatment. Because treating depression requires a matter of urgency, we offer ketamine treatment that produces a rapid shift in depression scores (even in those who have treatment resistant depression) through facilitating shift in perspective and how we relate to our past, and the ability to rewrite core beliefs through promoting neuroplasticity.You therefore must be comfortable with vulnerability, and able to connect with people with integrity, cultivating trust that allows patients to feel safe with you when at their lowest, and the courage to believe their condition can change.The PA is instrumental in patient care as the welcomer who lays the foundation for their treatment experience. This has to be done right for success in what follows, particularly appreciating the symptoms and sensitivities of our patients. The nature of the PA can influence the treatment outcome.Doing this job well will require the ability to maintain patience and compassion while handling and initiating high outbound call volumes, responding to new patients in real time via phone and through texts.If you would like to make a very real difference to peoples lives, this is your opportunity. Comp $24-$37 per hour inclusive of bonus structure.10-29 hours per week, with opportunity to pick up additional hours upon availability.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Education High School diploma, GED, or equivalent. Licensure N/ACertification(s) N/AWe will offer continuing education relevant to the role, including CALM (counselling and access to lethal means) training.Skills:Strong ability to connect with people from a place of integrity, and navigate barriers to reaching treatment through education and encouragement.Responsible and strategic time management skills, with the ability to meet targets by a deadline. Ability to provide high quality customer service over the phone, in a high call volume environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an aptitude for storytelling/outbound calling success.A tolerance for challenging conversations, ambiguity, and rejection.Sufficient belief in yourself and the mission to be determined to succeed in your goal. Ability to dedicate yourself to patients during the shift.Work Experience:Ideal candidates will have experience in high quality hospitality or patient care role, providing direct customer service and education to patients in a call center environment.Experience delivering group workshops, or motivating or inspiring change may also serve this role.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provide exceptional + reasonable customer service to each patient, confidently addressing concerns in order to ensure patients get better faster.
