The Division of Orthopedics Surgery at the University of Minnesota is seeking a board certified/eligible General Orthopedic Surgeon. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited ACGME Orthopedic Surgery residency, fellowship education in sports medicine or arthroplasty preferred, mid-career candidate highly preferred, reliable clinician with sound judgement and technical expertise, thorough and self-motivated, education-focused and a creative problem-solver, excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional collaboration abilities with partners and staff, board eligible/certified, licensed or ability to acquire Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure and DEA certification in the State of Minnesota, meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges, and ability to receive work authorization in the United States and maintain legal status according to VISA requirements. The position is 75-100% board-certified or board-eligible orthopedic surgeon with interest in community orthopedic surgery, preferably with fellowship training in Sports Medicine or arthroplasty. The surgeon will work in the M Health Fairview system in the North Twin Cities metro on a campus with non-surgical sports medicine providers, advancing full-service patient care. Responsibilities include patient care at M Health Fairview sites, including call at a Level 3 or 4 Trauma Center, and pursuit of outcome-driven goals championed by service line, system, and individual interests. Opportunity may exist to work with residents and/or medical students. The position is part of a team of 29 orthopedic surgeons within M Health Fairview System. The role supports a collaborative environment with multiple specialists including general and subspecialty orthopedic surgeons, podiatrists, pain management providers, neurosurgeons, medical spine (PM&R), athletic trainers, and physical and occupational therapists.
