Job Description:

Responsible for providing direct patient care to skilled nursing facility residents and for servicing the needs of residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, within the scope of the nursing assistant role. Provides personal hygiene care, assists with providing for nutritional needs, recognized and deals with the problems of the aging process, recognizes and promptly report changes in resident condition to shift nurses, and maintains a safe, clean, attractive, and neat environment for the residents. Must be aware of and prevent the abuse of vulnerable adults in the care of the Essentia Health skilled nursing facility. Maintains awareness of safety issues and strives to accomplish all responsibilities in a safe manner. Identifies safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective actions. This position also works as a team member in the nursing department, administering medications to residents as ordered by the physician, under direct supervision of the nurse on duty. Other tasks include keeping proper care records, reporting any changes in resident condition, and interacting with internal and external customers in a professional manger while ensuring resident safety. Work Experience: Must have a minimum of 6 months satisfactory work in a nursing assistant position in the facility. Previous experience in long term care preferred.

Education Qualifications:

Completion of a recognized nursing aide program.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program, current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry or obtains within 4 months of hire/transfer date.
