Overview:
We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MT, MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) with blood banking experience for a contract position with the potential for permanent hire. This role requires MLS or MLT certification (ACSP, AAB, AMT).

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
• Perform both routine and complex technical procedures according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot lab instrumentation to ensure optimal functionality.
• Make informed technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
• Conduct and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Maintain and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with specimen processing when required.
• Ensure a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Requirements:

• Associate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or compliance with local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
• Minimum of 10 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
