Job Description
A Maintenance/HVAC Specialist is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems within a building or facility, ensuring optimal comfort levels and air quality by identifying and resolving issues with equipment like furnaces, chillers, air handling units, and ventilation systems, often including tasks like filter replacements, cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and electrical component repairs; they may also perform minor building maintenance tasks as needed.
Maintenance/HVAC Specialist
Experienced HVAC & R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) Specialist. Maintains, troubleshoots, analyzes/evaluates, repairs and installs facility HVAC & R and BAS systems and equipment as directed including large and complex systems. Leads specialty projects.
Qualifications
Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Graduate of a trade or vocational school with courses in blueprint reading, mathematics and physics with specialized curriculum in the HVAC & R maintenance field preferred.
Experience: Five years HVAC & R experience in commercial or healthcare related maintenance required. Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Appropriate level CFC Certification. Valid Virginia Driver’s License preferred for positions in the hospitals and required for Property Maintenance positions. Other Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a good understanding of BAS programming and automated building control. Familiarity with all relevant codes for hospital’s and commercial occupancies. Good interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to communicate with co-workers and others. Ability to use a computerized work order control system. Ability to maintain required records, and follow verbal and written instructions. May be asked to provide basic general purpose maintenance tools. Position is deemed “emergency personnel” during emergency weather conditions. May be asked to provide own transportation and travel to other facilitator's work sites. May be required to work at other facilitator's facilities to meet staffing needs.Why is This a Great Opportunity
