Position Overview:
Position is responsible for the maintenance, repairs, installation and improvement of blow mold, injection, and downstream equipment and support systems at the facility by directing, managing and developing all Maintenance department employees. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for developing and improving asset utilization, uptime and production throughout the plant by implementing proven Professional Maintenance and reliability improvement processes. This position ensures responsive and proactive maintenance support to all plant partners by implementing sound work management processes. The Maintenance Manager is accountable for the department budget, professional and technical development of staff, and achieving maintenance metrics
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Assume the role as maintenance safety champion and empower the team to be responsible for their own personal safety.
Fully involved with local management team. Provides technical input, solutions and options on improving productivity/efficiencies and product quality for area of responsibility.
Establish priorities for the maintenance function/department and works closely with the Plant Engineer and Maintenance Supervisors to ensure the effective utilization of available resources.
Manage the movement of molds to and from the facility and acts as the key contact person for molds at the facility.
Responsible for tracking expenditures and labor costs to ensure compliance with plant and department budgets.
Responsible for the parts room, inventory, and inventory management systems.
Recommend and implement TPM programs to eliminate identified problems, to improve labor utilization, upgrade facilities, and reduce costs. TPM pillars of focus would are Autonomous Maintenance and Planned Maintenance
Champions, drives and measures improvement initiatives to reduce equipment downtime, improve equipment availability, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), through establishment of predictive maintenance program.
Responsible for maintaining effective PM programs and for compliance with written plans, programs and procedures.
Seek bids on construction, alteration or installation work as required. Recommends contractors based on cost, workmanship, and completion dates. Administers such contracts and coordinates work performed to ensure expectations are met and contractors adhere to facility policies.
Responsible for the development, implementation, improvement and compliance of preventative maintenance programs for areas of responsibility Ensure repair work is documented.
Responsible for compliance with applicable Federal, State and local safety and health, environmental, building and fire ordinances and standards not limited to lockout, haz-com, machine guarding and waste disposal. Actively participates in local safety programs and ensure maintenance team performs work in a safe manner.
Actively participates in all plant audits, including GMP, HACCP, and GFSI
Manages team of direct reports and is responsible for employee selection, development, mentoring, and performance management. Responsible for overall talent management and employee engagement; cultivates an environment of safety, high performance, and ethical and legal compliance; addresses employee relations issues
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline preferred or equivalent knowledge and experience
Five years of experience in industrial maintenance experience. Blowmold, Injection mold, or bottling preferred. Must have good working knowledge of high-speed production machinery and facilities
