Reports to: District Manager of "The UPS Stores" Position Summary
As a Center Operator/Supervisor at The UPS Store, you will oversee daily store operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and efficient workflow. Your responsibilities include managing staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for training and developing team members, monitoring performance, and implementing strategies to achieve store goals. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management •Oversee daily store operations, ensuring adherence to UPS Store franchise policies and procedures.
•Maintain a well-organized and efficient store environment, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
•Manage workflow processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of customer transactions.
•Implement and enforce company policies, safety protocols, and operational guidelines.
Customer Service & Sales •Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and promoting store services.
•Educate customers on available shipping, printing, and business solutions.
•Process shipments, packaging, notary services, mailbox rentals, and other business service transactions.
•Upsell and cross-sell products and services to meet customer needs and increase revenue.
Team Leadership & Staff Development •Supervise, train, and mentor store associates to ensure high performance and engagement.
•Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement coaching initiatives.
•Develop and post staff schedules while managing labor costs effectively.
•Foster a positive and professional workplace culture.
Inventory & Financial Management •Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed.
•Oversee cash handling procedures and balancing end-of-day reports.
•Track financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and work towards increasing store revenue and profitably goals.
Compliance & Security •Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping for notary services, shipments, and business transactions.
•Adhere to packaging and shipping requirements to prevent product damage during transit.
•Assist Kabelin Shipping Company President with customer claims process as needed.
•Ensure store security, including safe handling of confidential customer information.
Vendor & Partner Relations •Maintain strong relationships with UPS drivers, suppliers, and third-party vendors.
•Coordinate print services, mailbox management, and other business partnerships effectively.
•Stay up-to-date with promotions, service changes, and corporate initiatives to align store operations.
Technology & Communication •Utilize POS systems, Gusto, Google Drive, and other platforms to streamline store operations.
•Ensure timely and effective communication with your store team, Kabelin Shipping Company President, and franchisor leadership.
•Train employees on software tools and operational best practices as needed.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements: •Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to work independently with limited day-to-day oversight.
•Ability to multitask and reprioritize as needed to ensure work is completed on time.
•Ability to delegate and be fair and impartial when dealing with employees and customers.
•Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
•Excellent organizational and project management skills
•Ability to maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
•Ability to lift at least 60 pounds and reach above your head.
•Must be able to stand for up to 8-10 hours per shift.
•Must attend and pass "Center Operator" Training.
•Must have or be willing to get an Indiana Notary License.
•Previous retail management experience preferred. Ace Hardware
