Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a FPGA Expert in Goleta, CA. The work will be done onsite. Compensation includes benefits.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, porting, validating, and optimizing firmware and software solutions for computer vision, ADAS applications, and autonomous driving on specialized hardware platforms. This role is part of a dynamic, cross-functional team and involves collaboration with algorithm and system engineering teams. Future responsibilities will include migrating FPGA-based video pipelines to ISP and DSP components within an SoC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate Matlab-developed algorithms into embedded platforms such as FPGAs and SoCs.
• Modify and optimize algorithms to align with system constraints and performance requirements.
• Enhance the efficiency of embedded algorithms for resource utilization.
• Analyze hardware and software requirements, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
• Conduct testing, debugging, and validation on target hardware platforms.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues at the bench, assembly plant, and customer site.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Strong expertise in FPGA development (7+ years of hands-on experience).
• Proficiency in software debugging and hardware troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with ARM-based SoCs such as Xilinx, TI, and Renesas.
• Experience with CAN or LIN-based programming tools.
• Ability to test ECUs in both bench environments and real-world vehicles.
• Strong background in embedded system architecture and optimization.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
