Founding Engineer

Location : New York City

Compensation : $160K – $200K + Equity

About the Company :

This innovative company is addressing critical challenges in American industry by developing AI-powered tools to transform HR processes and back-office operations. Their mission is to solve complex labor challenges through cutting-edge technology and intuitive design.

They have recently secured $3.5m in funding and are at pre-launch stage. They're 5 months old but have had 2yrs of runway prior to the funding.

The founding engineer is ex-Tesla (5yrs).

Key Responsibilities :

• Feature Development : Build high-velocity, best-in-class software, contributing to the product roadmap and developing new features from scratch.
• User-Focused Solutions : Develop empathy for users to design and implement impactful, user-centered solutions.
• Technical Excellence : Maintain high standards for code quality, technical decision-making, and codebase maintainability as the team grows.
• Autonomous Execution : Take ownership of projects and execute independently, driving impactful outcomes without the need for explicit instructions.
• Team Collaboration : Scale your skills alongside the company and assist in recruiting and mentoring future engineering hires.

Qualifications :

• They're building with TypeScript / React / Node / Postgres - so you'll need experience with these
• At least 2 years of experience contributing to technically complex projects or exceptional products.
• Strong proficiency in both backend and frontend development, with high standards for performance and maintainability.
• Ability to work at a fast pace and navigate ambiguity with ease.
• Passion for continuous learning, exploring new technologies, and honing your craft.
• Bonus: Experience collaborating directly with customers to deliver tailored solutions.
