Job Title: Forklift Mechanic
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to cover all MHE within our facilities. This role involves working within a 40-50 mile radius of Carlisle and performing maintenance on various forklifts, including Raymond, Big-Joe's, Crown's, Yale, and Komatsu models. You will be responsible for executing all preventative maintenance (PMs) and necessary repairs through a CMMS system.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and diagnose equipment problems and breakdowns.
• Recommend appropriate service and repair actions to resolve equipment performance issues.
• Make necessary equipment repairs or modifications based on analysis.
• Perform scheduled equipment maintenance.
• Follow all scheduled maintenance procedures and company policies.
• Document each service call with necessary paperwork.
• Observe all safety procedures and ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste.
• Maintain company service vehicles in a clean, orderly, and hazard-free condition, including regular maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations.
• Secure and maintain service and parts inventory in the company service vehicle.
• Provide and maintain well-maintained personal tools required for effective equipment service.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment
• Experience with repairing forklifts
• Technical or mechanical training/certifications preferred
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean MVR
• Above average communication skills
• Ability to understand service and training manuals, including interpreting schematics and effectively using electrical diagnostic instruments
• Ability to safely operate power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks, and overhead cranes
• Must have own tools, such as sockets and wrenches

Work Environment

Our facilities are clean, climate-controlled, and well-kept. This hybrid role involves both road and facility work within a 50-mile radius, with a company vehicle provided after the contract period. Larger tools, including a compressor for the Vav, will be provided. This role includes a gas card and Enterprise card. The work hours are from 7:00 am to 3:30/4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with no weekends or on-call duties.

This is a Contract position based out of Plainfield, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00
