Florist
The Florist is responsible for building, producing, installing and maintaining floral arrangements following the Wynn Floral Design Standard. The florist is responsible for the maintenance of fresh floral product and housekeeping of the department following the department standards. This includes receiving and processing fresh floral product, culling, sanitizing and organizing the floral cooler, preparing props and containers, performing event set ups and strikes, cleaning and storing props and containers, delivering retail orders and assist in customer service when receiving and processing floral phone orders.
Responsibilities include:
- Taking floral orders, making the arrangement, delivering the arrangement and processing all paperwork properly.
- Building and production of floral arrangements including but not limited to public area pieces, weddings, events, daily retail orders, special events, and special projects always following the Wynn Floral Design Standard.
- Receiving, processing, tagging and pulling floral product and hard goods.
- Maintaining a clean environment including cleaning and organizing the floral coolers, storage rooms, storage and work areas, the floral studio.
- Production, delivery, installation and strike of events, special projects and dcor in both off-site and on-site venues.
- Processing floral orders through the GoConcierge system, telephone and in person.
- Providing support and mentoring to newly hired florists.
- Effectively dealing with internal and external guests, some of whom will require levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
- Operating specialized power and motorized equipment including, but not limited to, scissor lift, boom lift, fork lift, pallet jack, electric pallet jack, utility vehicles and trucks up to 30 ft. long.
- Maintaining the Company standards of service to guests and coworkers at all times.
- Ensuring the Company standards of cleanliness and appearance for all areas.
- Maintaining a safe and pristine work environment at all times.
- Working with safety as a priority, and following department and company safety standards.
- Knowing and adhering to Company policies and procedures, embracing company culture and taking pride in the resort and amenities.
- Knowing and adhering to department tasks and standards.
- Understanding and being well versed in the resort, hotel features and services including all outlets, hours of operation, activities and events available to guests.
- Attending required training classes and incorporating new knowledge gained into daily work practices.
- Looking for opportunities to assist peers, guests, other departments or leaders at all times.
- Solution oriented, avoiding conflict and gossip, staying on task and promoting teamwork.
- Awareness of guest experience at all times, smiling and making eye contact and communicating professionally.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- 2 years of experience in floral design preferred.
- Requires a valid Nevada driver's license.
- Ability to operate specialized power and motorized equipment including but not limited to: scissor lift, boom lift, fork lift, pallet jack, electric pallet jack, utility vehicles as well as trucks up to 30 ft. long.
- Prior knowledge of the following systems is preferred: Go Concierge, MMS Agilysys and HotSOS.
- Ability to work efficiently within a team environment.
- Must possess a positive, "whatever it takes" attitude.
- Must have an open mind and willingness to learn new processes, concepts and ways of approaching guest and coworkers.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Must be well groomed and professional.
- Must be able to communicate in English with guests, management, and other associates to their understanding. Additional foreign language a plus.
- Must be available to work all shifts and days including weekends, holidays, opening and closing shifts. Schedule for this position is not set. Must be available to work all shifts and be able to flex schedule based on business demands and special projects.
- Must be able to work proficiently with deadlines and without constant guidance and supervision by following company and department standards.
- Must be able to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations.
- Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding guests and staff.
- Combination of education equivalent to graduation from high school (High school diploma) or any other combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
