HITS is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team in Cedar Hill, TX. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates and formal proposals for projects with TxDOT, NTTA, and other public agencies. The Estimator will analyze project plans and specifications, develop cost estimates, and support the bid process through to completion.

This is a full-time permanent position offering exposure to diverse infrastructure projects including traffic signals, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), large roadway signage, and electrical/illumination work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare complete, accurate, and timely estimates for quote/bid opportunities
• Analyze project plans and DOT standards to develop pricing
• Identify and document deviations from bid scopes and specifications
• Utilize historical data and standards to inform pricing
• Create and present detailed cost estimates and proposals
• Track bid status and award performance
• Price change orders as needed
• Work with suppliers and generate purchase orders as part of the estimating process
• Support ongoing technical development by attending relevant workshops and trainings

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• 2+ years of estimating experience in construction or a related field
• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
• TxDOT project estimating experience highly preferred
• Knowledge of traffic signals, ITS installations, roadway signage, and illumination/electrical
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent verbal communication
• Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team player
• Consistently meets deadlines and manages multiple priorities effectively

Working Conditions:

• Full-time | 40+ hours per week
• Office-based role with occasional job site and supplier coordination
