EHS Manager

Reporting to the Global EHS&S Manager with a dotted line to the Director of Operations for the Evans City site, the EHS Manager is responsible for all aspects of the environmental, health, safety, and security programs for the Evans City facility. The incumbent will manage the Safety and Training Lead and the Security Supervisor for the facility. The incumbent will ensure facility compliance to federal, local, and company requirements for all EHS&S requirements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Ensure the facility hazardous waste program for a large quantity generator is in compliance with federal, local, and company requirements.

Ensure appropriate regulatory and compliance applications, permits, data reports, records, and documentation as required by regulatory agencies are completed as required.

Interact with various Federal, State and Local government regulatory agencies concerning the nature of the company's business and products as it relates to EHS&S.

Participate in implementation of the facility industrial hygiene program including conducting exposure assessments, exposure monitoring, and evaluation of hazard control techniques.

Interprets regulations and standards, conducts audits, identifies potential problems, and implements appropriate resolutions and solutions.

Function as the site leader for implementation and maintenance of the company incident management system.

Participates in Process Safety Management activities including PHAs and third-party audits.

Function as the facility back-up emergency coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications:

Basic qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a concentration in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Management, Science or Engineering.

Individuals with other degrees to be considered with experience in EHS management.

A minimum of 5 years of work experience as an EHS professional; chemical manufacturing and/or laboratory health and safety experience a plus.

In depth knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations.

Experience with environmental permitting and compliance in a manufacturing/laboratory environment.

Professional certifications such as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Qualified Environmental or Professional (QEP), is a plus.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Management, Environmental Science or Engineering.
