Job Description

Eleven Recruiting is seeking an experienced EHS and Facilities Manager to join one of our leading aerospace manufacturing clients in Santa Ana. This pivotal role is responsible for leading Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) operations, overseeing facilities management, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across a high-output composites manufacturing facility.

This individual will work cross-functionally to support production goals while fostering a clean, safe, and compliant workplace environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, leadership presence, and hands-on experience in both EHS and facilities oversight within a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Oversee environmental programs including hazardous waste, air emissions, and SDS documentation.
  • Manage emergency response procedures, drills, and compliance inspections.
  • Support capital equipment installations and process changes through an EHS lens.
  • Conduct audits of safety systems (fire suppression, ventilation, PPE, hoists, eyewash stations, etc.).

Leadership and Influence

  • Lead the Site HSE Committee and drive closure of action items through leadership collaboration.
  • Serve as the main point of contact during regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Champion 6S workplace organization across all departments, including production, warehouse, and admin areas.
  • Train and guide managers and staff on safety protocols and compliance best practices.
  • Manage facility operations, ensuring uptime and efficiency across shared services.

Analytical Problem Solving

  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
  • Implement corrective/preventive actions and track progress through safety KPIs.
  • Monitor cost efficiency and develop budgets for shared services and facilities maintenance.

Continuous Improvement

  • Sustain best-in-class 6S and safety standards across all work areas.
  • Identify and execute safety and environmental initiatives that reduce risk and improve compliance.
  • Keep internal programs aligned with evolving regulatory and operational requirements.

Communication

  • Deliver EH&S training across various employee levels and departments.
  • Facilitate safety meetings, share compliance updates, and drive engagement in safety initiatives.
  • Maintain clear records for audits, incidents, training, permits, and facility performance.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish to effectively lead and support a diverse workforce.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive EHS and Facilities Management experience in a manufacturing environment; aerospace and composites industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Deep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, hazardous waste, and environmental compliance protocols.
  • Demonstrated success leading 6S/5S implementation and EHS program development.
  • Proven track record in regulatory audits, incident investigations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills across all levels of a facility.
  • Experience managing vendors, budgets, facility infrastructure, and site maintenance programs.
  • Proficiency with facility management systems and safety compliance software.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CHMM, CIH) and project management experience are a plus.
