About the role The Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for helping to define, drive, and deliver major components of the Company's cyber security strategy. This position directs technology teams within Information Technology that research, engineer, test, implement, communicate, monitor, and maintain solutions supporting the Company's information security policies and/or procedures. They utilize in-depth knowledge and business requirements to design and engineer secure solutions to meet business needs or address critical audit findings, while protecting the Company's data assets. This position works independently with assistance, direction and goal setting from the Information Technology Leadership team. Please note: This job can only be performed remotely in the following states: CA, FL, GA, IL, LA, MI, NJ, NY, NV, NC, OR, TN, TX, or WA. Responsibilities Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information. Develop and implement security policies and controls to support the NIST Cyber Security framework. Develop, implement and support a consistent cyber security training program across global, multilingual business. Assist in ensuring global Information security program meets all industry regulations, standards, and compliance requirements (CCPA, GDPR, ISO-9001, NIST, CTPAT, UK Cyber essentials). Drive adoption of infrastructure security best practices and work with Information Technology teams to ensure security standards are maintained. Implement technology to proactively scan Information Technology environment for security breaches and suspicious activity. Continuous improvement in the areas of Information Security technologies, techniques and processes. Qualifications Dynamic interpersonal, communication and writing skills. Demonstrable vendor management skill. Ability to prioritize, respond to and follow through on multiple customer requests in a dynamic work environment. Ability to work independently and manage project teams. Ability to translate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Education & Experience Education BS/BA Degree in Information Technology / Management. Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies and methods. Industry professional certifications are a plus (Security+, CISSP, CISM). Experience 5+ years’ experience in Information Security and/or related technology field. Direct experience with endpoint security, intrusion detection, firewalls and content filtering. Experience designing secure networks, systems and application architectures. Office 365 System Administration and Security. Experience planning, researching and developing security policies, standards and procedures. Travel 10% overall; may be significantly higher during duration of a project.
