Requirements:   

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 8+ years of accounting/finance experience, with manufacturing expertise required.
• Strong knowledge Percentage of Competition (POC) accounting (preferred).
• Proficiency in ERP and forecasting systems; familiarity with systems like Epicor and OneStream is advantageous.
• Comprehensive accounting skills (financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, etc.).
• Adaptable and comfortable handling diverse responsibilities.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.

The Controller position at a manufacturing location in Santa Fe Springs, CA, is critical for overseeing financial data accuracy, leading internal control efforts, and applying economic discipline to decision-making processes. The role also involves specialized accounting for U.S. government projects, including POC accounting and related budgeting and forecasting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the General Manager and site leadership to achieve business objectives.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, managing activities like general accounting, job cost accounting, and inventory validation.
• Handle Percentage of Competition (POC) accounting for government projects, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Develop annual operating and capital budgets aligned with strategic goals.
• Support financial planning processes, including forecasts and updates in designated systems.
• Implement effective internal controls to ensure accurate recording of business transactions (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Capex).
• Analyze cost and margin performance, recommending corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, including compliance with SOX and government contracts.
