Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated and career-focused Sales Trainee to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee. This is an entry-level role designed for recent graduates or professionals with 1–2 years of experience who are interested in building a long-term career in construction sales. The role begins with hands-on training in HVAC equipment estimating and will transition into an Outside Sales role over time.

This is a great opportunity to learn the technical side of commercial HVAC while developing the skills needed to succeed in a client-facing sales role.

Key Responsibilities

Initial Training – Estimating Phase:

• Review construction plans and specifications to understand project requirements
• Learn to use OST (On-Screen Takeoff) software to complete material take-offs
• Assist with HVAC equipment selection based on project needs and specifications
• Help develop pricing and prepare quotations using manufacturer software and databases
• Collaborate with experienced Sales Engineers to understand competitive bidding strategies
• Communicate with internal teams and factory reps to support the quote process
• Gain exposure to the sales cycle, customer relationships, and project management fundamentals

Transition into Sales:

• Shadow Outside Sales Engineers and begin developing relationships with mechanical contractors and engineers
• Participate in job site visits, client meetings, and technical presentations
• Learn how to manage sales pipelines and identify new business opportunities
• Take ownership of projects and gradually move into a full-time sales role

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 0–2 years of professional experience in a technical, estimating, or construction-related role
• Strong interest in construction sales and customer-facing work
• Solid technical aptitude and willingness to learn HVAC systems and products
• Strong communication skills and a professional presence
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiarity with estimating or design software is a plus
• Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with a “can-do” attitude and desire for career growth
