The Clinical Fellow in Speech-Language Pathology provides essential therapy and patient care under the mentorship of a licensed speech-language pathologist. This role adheres to guidelines set by the hospital, state, professional, and federal organizations, ensuring compliance at all levels. Key responsibilities include: Conducting thorough evaluations and assessments in speech-language pathology. Developing and implementing individualized care plans and treatment strategies. Effectively communicating with patients, their families, and caregivers to ensure understanding and engagement. Collaborating with various hospital departments to uphold patient safety and address the needs of staff and the facility. Supervising and delegating tasks to technicians and assistants as necessary. Qualifications: License or Certification: Current state license in Speech Language Pathology required. CCC expected within the first 2 years of employment or as dictated by ASHA. BLS (CPR) certification required within 30 days of hire. Experience: Inpatient rehabilitation experience is preferred. Technical Skills: Proficient in therapy equipment and general office tools, including Microsoft Office software. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and transfer patients and equipment as needed (minimum 30 pounds). Skills and Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication, active listening, strong time management, and critical thinking skills.
