About the Role
The Company is seeking an Academic Advisor and Career Coach to play a pivotal role in its student success and retention initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including academic and career planning, class selection, and tracking student progress. They will also lead a cohort of first-year students, design and facilitate programs that promote experiential learning and professional development, and collaborate with faculty to integrate career development into academic curricula. Applicants for the Academic Advisor and Career Coach position at the company should hold a Master's degree in a relevant field and have at least three years of professional experience in career or academic counseling. The role requires expertise in best practices for academic and career coaching, a strong understanding of college student development, and the ability to manage a full counseling load effectively. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to build relationships with diverse populations, and a general familiarity with the goals of a residential liberal education. Responsibilities also include data collection, reporting, and the development of resources to enhance students' understanding of career pathways. The role demands a detail-oriented, flexible individual who can work both autonomously and as part of a team, and who is willing to work occasional evenings, and weekends, and engage in regional travel as needed.
