The ideal candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research initiatives aimed at unraveling genetic mechanisms underlying complex traits and diseases. Details: Contract up to $100/hr Location: On Site/ Cambridge, MA Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Genetics , Genomics , Computational Biology , or a related field. 5+ years of experience in genetic/genomic data analysis in academic, biotech, or pharma settings. Proficiency in R , Python , and Bash for developing reproducible analysis pipelines. Experienced in genetic analysis tools and techniques including variant analysis, population genetics, and genomic annotation. Skilled in using high-performance computing (HPC) environments and AWS Cloud services (e.g., IAM, S3). Strong understanding of statistical methods and their application in genomic studies. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated, collaborative, and adaptable in a dynamic research environment. Responsibilities : Collect Genetic Data: Access and download data from public databases like dbSNP, gnomAD, GTEx, and ClinVar. Process and Analyze Genomic Data: Perform quality control, imputation, variant calling, and annotation using tools like GATK, bcftools, and ANNOVAR. QTL Mapping: Identify genetic variants linked to quantitative traits using software like PLINK and R/qtl. Population Genetics: Study genetic variation across populations, including allele frequencies and population structure. Integrate Multi-Omics Data: Combine genetic data with transcriptomic, epigenomic, and proteomic data to understand gene function. Document Work: Clearly record methods and results, and communicate findings to team members. This job description is a complete list of all desired skills, but not all are required.
