Job Description
Job Summary: The Barista is primarily responsible for taking orders, preparing beverages, and serving guests at Portside Coffee & Gelato. This position is also responsible for cleanliness and safety of coffee & gelato shop areas of the property.

Duties & Responsibilities: - Deliver an amazing guest experience with fast and friendly service when taking orders and processing payments.
- Be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu, with the ability to answer questions and make suggestions.
- Prepare and serve beverages consistently adhering to all recipe standards.
- Anticipate guests' needs and exceed customer service expectations.
- Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
- Keep designated service stations clean and organized.
- Restock and replenish bar inventory.
- Concludes the guest experience by acknowledging choice of establishment and inviting patrons to return.
- Ensure guests are enjoying their experience and take action to correct any problems.
- Complete assigned sidework at the beginning, during, and at end of shift.

Qualifications/Requirements: - Friendly, energetic, detail-oriented team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment!
- Coffee experience is a plus but not required. We offer on-the-job training.
- A desire to help where needed and work as part of a team.
- Ability to work positively and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire bar area and service wells.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Exhibit a professional appearance and mannerisms.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
- Must be able to stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, and wipe for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to carry trays and supplies (up to 25 lbs.).
- Food Handler Certification.
