Position Overview:

As a Barge Trader, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing our barge trading operations in the USA, focusing on fertilizers. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional to leverage their expertise in barge trading and the fertilizer industry to contribute to the success of a rapidly growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead our barge trading operations in the USA, with an expected volume of 300,000 metric tons in the first year
• Develop and execute trading strategies to optimize profitability and market presence
• Provide market insights and analysis to support trading decisions and inform strategic planning
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and logistics partners
• Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with all regulatory and operational requirements
• Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities for paper trading and expand the scope of operations
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of experience in barge trading, preferably in the fertilizer industry
• In-depth knowledge of barge logistics, trading dynamics
• Experience with paper trading is highly desirable
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
• Proven track record of achieving trading targets
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
